Our last day in Zanzibar

Spice tour & culture

On the third day of our trip, the Zinhumwe family left Zanzibar while my family, the Mlanjanas, decided to stay behind. We spent the day touring the island and collecting souvenirs for our loved ones back home. After our shopping spree, we couldn't resist revisiting the Swahili restaurant we had dined at on our first day. The food was just as delicious as we remembered, and we ended up eating there twice during our trip.

Spice and all things nice

.

The fourth and final day of our Zanzibar adventure was bittersweet. We had one last activity planned before we had to leave the island. We went on a spice tour to explore the rich spices that Zanzibar is known for. It was fascinating to learn about the different spices and their uses in cooking and medicine.

Local connections

To end our trip on a high note, we had a meal at a local person's house. This was a unique experience that allowed us to connect with the culture and the people of Zanzibar on a deeper level. The food was authentic and delicious, and the hospitality was heartwarming.

As the sun began to set, we bid farewell to Zanzibar and flew back home to Johannesburg. Our trip had been filled with adventure, delicious food, and unforgettable experiences. We left with memories that would last a lifetime and a newfound appreciation for the beauty and culture of this stunning island.
